Dear God

Dear God, why do you love us so?
I guess that's one thing we'll never know.
We curse you & turn your name to dirt;
God, I know that must really hurt.
When we're in trouble, we say that we love you,
and when we're not, we think we're above you.
Dear God, why did Jesus die?
This world is just one big lie.
There's drugs & war; there's hate everywhere.
God, how is it that you can still care?
It's 'do unto others before they do you'.
Everyday there's more bad news.
So God, why do you love us so?
I guess that's one thing we'll never know.

Well done poem, prayer, honesty, pondering and wondering! He loves His creation and knows how to perfect us, still we have choices, us sinner-saints

Thank you so much. At the time I penned this, there was a lot of chaos in the world. The Vietnam war was going on, rioting, it was bad everywhere. Hence why I couldn't sleep. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
