Dear Diary
Dear Diary,
Here's a story for you,
One that holds my words so true,
Life today is so brand new,
It's hard to know what to do.
Life is filled with drugs, guns, and alcohol,
With movies, sports, and games where all we do is brawl,
We're constantly plugged into a wall,
From before sunrise to after nightfall.
But who am I to say these things,
I have those same cravings,
I sit inside my dwellings,
Ignoring all those bad feelings.
So I'll change a bit everyday,
To avoid the ordeal of another pompeii,
So in this world, I will stay,
But my idea of hope will never sway.
Dear Diary,
These words that I now write,
Make me strong, make me fight,
I will do what I find right,
As I rethink my life tonight.
