Dear Daniel
I had known you for many years
Yet never really knew you at all
We talked for hours
An attraction between us
Was the one thing we both knew
You made me laugh
I made you smile
We laid on the sand
Kissing and caressing
Heavy petting some would call
We were like teenagers you said
The world was there to enjoy
Salty waters lapping at our feet
Romantic restaurants on the beach
Talking as lovers do
Your eyes blazing raw passion
Burning into mine with elation
Lust oozing from within us
Craving to be set free
It was too hard to ignore
I loved the way you grabbed my hair
Pulling me towards you with such desire
The times when we were happy
Holding hands and kissing in the street
No worries just being ourselves
You called me your muse
I felt honoured to inspire
Both writers of poetry playing with words
Little did I know back then
You would be the one to inspire me now
You made my dreams come true
Although I know that wasn’t your intention
You turned out to be completely selfish
As long as you were happy you didn’t care
Fragile and weak you bleated time after time
The most dishonest creature I have ever met
Cruel and heartless, a man with a black soul
Words so spiteful spat in my face triumphantly
No conscience no regrets
Laughing at your achievement
But I thank you from the bottom of my heart
For hurting me the way you did
For deceiving me and leaving me broken
Not caring what you did was wrong
You always wondered what your purpose was
I can tell you now
You became my muse
Giving me inspiration and strength
To do what you can’t do
Be yourself, be free and write, publish a book
Be successful and just ……..
Be me!
