Dear Dad,

Everything was going fine
Until your promotion got declined
We had to pack up everything and leave
It was all in disbelief

Mama said that if she'd known it would've ended up like this, she wouldn't have 
never gotten married
Just about everything about you makes her so harried
I wish she had her own place
Because God knows that she really needs her own space

She wishes that then there was a sign of warn
Maybe then me and my sister wouldn't have been born
That way you won't be so mad when the bills are due
Maybe it would have been better off if it was just you

Would you be happy if there were no us
You took the responsibility and now you wanna take it out on us
Even though there's no 'I' in 'team'
That's the way you make it seem

You think that this is your house alone
You don't want anyone to visit
The way you make us feel is the way a heart feels when it's torn into bits
It's a shame how we are treated by one of our own

You think you brought mama so far just because you were in the military
If you brought her so far, then why is she struggling
You say that you are a man
Regardless of anything, a man does the best that he can

A man doesn't get mad because he has to pay bills
If he cares for his family, he'll do whatever's in his will
It wouldn't hurt you to take care of my mom
She took care of you when you didn't have and wouldn't get a job

I love you Dad, really I do
But sometimes we just feel like leaving you
We have our faults too
But it's mainly because of you

Our home is now a housewreck
That may not have a chance
If you don't give yourself a reality check
And stand up and be a man
