Dear Cousin,

You gave away everything. You did, didn’t you? You didn’t choose, you had to. Beaten, broken, smashed, thrashed. Mind and body, even soul. They took your name, I never got it. Did you even have one? Were you even real? Six million is too large to know. The loved ones I’ve had have been enough. I never missed you. I never even thought to ask for you. After all, where were you? You left. Gone. Gone. Before I even knew you. Gone before you could know me. I’m older now, I found my soul. But now my mind longs for you. You could’ve changed the world. Would’ve changed My world. You never had a voice. Speak through me. Say things I long to hear. Guide me. Remind me. Walk beside me. I’ll speak for you. I’ll love for you. I’ll laugh for you. I’ll remember you. Now and Always.

Thanks for sharing this. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God bless you.
