Deal Killer and Broken Promises

Deals are made a
thousand times a day
Only a tenth of them
are kept
You promise once,
you forget once
And pretty soon the
deal means nothing

Deals are overrated,
they say
Nobody can keep a
promise these days

In saying one thing,
they mean another
When you said one
thing,
I didn't expect the
other

But after shaking my
hand, you turned
around
And that little
spark of a deal we
made
Was shot not once,
but a thousand times
As many times as
there are deals in a
day

Deals are overrated,
they say
I found the truth of
that today

Thankfully there are still people who mean what they say. Hopefully you will make a deal with one of them. I enjoyed this piece.

Juli-Michelle...it would be a good day when someone actually keeps their promise. I'm with Drake, this is imaginative. A wonderful entry. Happy Holidays, Gwendolen

This was awesome. There is a touch of vagueness here, but in a very good way. Leaves much to the imagination.
