Deadly Flames of Religion

An adopted culture inculcated into individuals with packages full of half truths blended with interests so personal as the convictions of its prey are bought too cheaply. A never fully understood process a system either ambiguous or full of darkness yet commands dedication and loyalty Far from being a lifestyle a pretender; so hypocritical to spirituality and a sworn enemy to freedom appears as the light but comes in a flash and leaves total darkness its actual and true nature. So well obeyed and diligently served powerful and mighty as it is a master in manipulating the mind. It's cage is heavy with thick Iron rods very small and compressive but having no lock, want to come out? Simply open the door and emancipate yourself. You need not follow the doctrine of man to be spiritual a mortal guide is ideal but finding your own understanding is the most appropriate or else, you'd be burnt by the deadly flames of religion
NOTE: There is a huge difference between being spiritual and being religious. Even in Christianity, Jesus Christ condemned the pharisees and Sadducees over and over again.. Why? They were religious and not spiritual!

Thank you for distinguishing between religion and spirituality. Throughout the centuries too many of people have deliberately used religion like a weapon to deviously control and manipulate others. Thank you for so brilliantly exposing these misconceptions in this excellent piece! Pandita

Thanks a lot Pandita.... Your words are so so true.. I do hope more and more individuals start getting spiritual instead of being religious

I don't consider myself religious, I am fortunate to have a personal relationship with my Savior Jesus and through him I am coming to know my heavenly father. So much has been done in the name of religion that has nothing to do with God. This is a thought invoking piece, well done.

I like your perspective of religion. You bring out the dark aspects of religion. I have never believed in a vengeful God. Love, daver

you are so right, Funom!!! ...very clever and true lines! ...people may play as a tame sheep.. but in their inner soul hides a beast! ...there are thousands of religions in Earth...but admit it..they are not the real way to heaven...faith and beliefs plays a diffrent role some times.. :')

this is so true. Some of the worst Christians are the hypocrites among them. Very good poem.

Yeah Andrea Dietrich... And we've had lots of hypocrite spoiling the name of christianity throughout history... From creating a "holy war" to claiming the Earth is flat as stipulated by the scriptures and many more atrocities.... But these are far far far from the truth. Thanks for your comments

Very good point Funom and written so well. Perhaps religion being the steps to but spirituality the door. So many sit upon the steps never opening that door. Take care.

Yeah Leon Wilson and that is why history and the present has it that religion has caused lots of wars and slaughter... But is it actually what some of these faiths preach? Thanks for your comment Leon
