Dead of the Night

Wake me up in the dead of the night
When the living are slumbering
And the entities mustering
For it feels so wrong
To be vulnerable and naive.

I’ll be wandering till the dawn
For it feels so wrong
Everyone gazing the moon
Everyone but me.

I want to be there in the dusk
Taking in the dust
Looking for what is mine
And what isn't.

I want to waltz in the moonlight
As the spotlight will be mine
The stars twinkling
In the dead of the night.

Thanks for sharing this. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God bless you.
