Dead Eyes Cry Tears That Won'T Dry

The moon you see
Is what gave him hope
The moon you see
Is what lit his path

Tears lost in the dark
Dreams broken in the night
Love ripped apart
A life dying yet still alive

The daylight cast a shadow that grew
The river laughed as it listened to the sorrow of another human fool

The air tasted of death
The sun shone but remained cool
Fate played out its game
She was held back from him

Dead eyes cried tears that won't dry, silent screams echoed in the night

Love must die for a lie,
love must be hard, to demand such sacrifice
Love in war is for fools
Why must love in war be so very cruel?
