In the linear of my existence I saw its beginning and see its end - maybe it’s just cognitive dissonance but a bad feeling does my soul impend. In my prison whose walls are of flesh made I bear a justice I cannot explain, yet truly life redeemed is death delayed but still I have nothing to lose or gain! For my mortal sins and mortality I have as yet committed no end crime - now fate and self-fulfilling prophesy are mine to appease its limits of time. I wonder if peace I shall ever know lest I die a man of constant sorrow? Written: February 1996 De Profundis: Latin for “out of the depths”.
