Daylily’s

Despite the issues we both suffer
I feel a growing feeling of understanding
Like life is gaining back its color
Time standing still; forever enchanting

You’re the image of fresh bloomed daylily
and I’m encapsulated by your charm
My stomach flutters and brain goes silly
Oh how easily you could do me harm

Spring has nothing on your ability
to breathe life into my once dying world
Keep you safe in your beautiful fragility
Till you bloom wonderfully unfurled

My days better since I found my smile
and time spent doesn’t feel wasted
I hope it last for quite a while
Sweetness of life I so rarely tasted

So my darling as I watch I see you bloom
And true to a daylily I forget my sorrow
I breathe you in like an elegant perfume
And wait to see whats brought by tomorrow
