Daydreams
I can't hear their trembling
nor feel the brittle last of life
before they fall.
Out in the quiet
I sit alone and listen
and like lazy rain,
lonely splashes heard by those
who never used to listen.
But now, through painful stares,
a soft clatter in the eternal silence
echoes through the din,
and at last, all is still...
