Image result for pictures of daybreak in late summer

The crescent moon lies upon his back At the fiery break of day While Jiminy Cricket sings his favorite tune As the awesome Morning Star sends forth its full light Morning Star keeps shining as doves begin to coo Singing about his beauty Celebrating with songs of praise How they enjoy the cool morning and their appreciation rules Oh!! Soak in the presence of all the wonder Feel the delight of the new morn Just the touch of slightly moist air As it enters the lungs with each breath Gradually, slowly Mr. Sun shows A little more colorful light I can't imagine how the swallows can swoop When still surrounded with mostly night Pines' shadowy figures Stand like sentinels Still, quiet in the breezeless dawn Soak in this moment given~ because tomorrow it will be gone

Sara, Grade Point Below Average is fictional. Thanks for your insights. Your poem is a celebration of the artist’s innate ability to seize the moment at any point in time during the day Peerless depiction. Howard

Yes, Kim, I do get up early most mornings. It is now a little past 4 A.M., but I did fall asleep early last night. I mostly have to sleep when I can, or I don't sleep at all. Thanks for the visit. Sara K

Dear Sara, the beauty of Nature rises in the reverence of your verse. You capture the golden moments of sunrise with poetic flair and finesse. I especially enjoyed "I can't imagine how the swallows can swoop/When still surrounded with mostly night". Splendid imagery brings me to the "breezeless dawn". Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

The queen of reverent nature poetry strikes again. You're so good at this, as is Gina. You two should collaborate sometime

I am so delighted, Daniel that you were drawn into the scene. I am glad that I wrote it even though it was so dark that I could not see the lines on my notebook. Your comments are uplifting. Sara K
