Day Birth

the dawn burst thrust through
the belly of the night
wary by the abiding presence
of hosts of milkyway and the mighty moon
the morning break forth
like the chick from its shell
setting free and loose
the dictatorial sun
in a long reign with enchanting energy
and wanton warmth
behold! to us, a new day is born
