Dawning Dreams
In twilight morn I watch you crescent moon
With companion star looking down on you.
Let sunrise hues seep into my soul soon
To bathe in prisms caught in morning dew.
Enchantment dwells upon my hilltop home
As city lights extinguished with the dawn
Has me singing too with the birds that roam
In freedom's flight I build my dreams upon.
The quiet of the dawning now gives way
To the mundane tasks I must now complete,
Yet, the beauty of this morning will stay
Within my dreams as dusk and daylight meet.
I'll carry with me images serene
As I reflect upon my dawning dream.
