Dawn

Night has come
And a shadow covers the earth
Come and lie down awhile by me
I will keep a watch

Night has come
With the little lanterns above
Everything is alright, honey
I will stir the fire

Night has come to everyone
With lullabies of better times
Better than we knew
And even less than we can know

Night has gone
And a chorus summons a dawn
To awaken a world courage
To stand and start to turn

Time has come
To take my place in the world
Lift my head, stand and stretch
Stretch my hand toward the blind pull cord
Sunlight breaks into my room
And the light is almost breaking me
With the force of the morning, I cannot move
And if you stood in the light that lights the world could you?
