David

sit alone
thinking back on the past few months
all the people touching upon a soul
all wanting to help
guide
but one asks for guidance
someone to stand by through this journey
end coming too soon
life already being cut short
there he lies
shut away in a box
no one can see
no one else knows what he thought
how he wished to be remembered
his uncertainty hidden from them
help me and I'll help you
know these truths
it is my gift
one they'll never know

Wow, Nicole! Very poignant write. I like the reference regarding how the deceased wants to be remembered. When we die, all that remains is the impressions we've made on others. Excellent! Carolyn
