Davey Crockett

Davey Crockett
Moved to Texas to fill up his pocket
But how could he know
They would get huffy at the Alamo

Larry, as a U.S. Senator Crockett rebelled when President Jackson relocated the Cherokee on the trail of tears. He is, perhaps, better known for the Alamo. Congratulations on your win in Andrea's contest. Best wishes, Carolyn

Loved his comment...after he lost in Tenn..You can go to Hell and I will go to Texas. I lived in the mountains of North Georgia for a long time on land that belonged to the Cherokee before the Trail of Tears...a horrible injustice because of a gold strike in Georgia
