Daunting

The gifts are bought and wrapped by now So I don’t have to think Of what to get until next year, Though quicker than a wink The months will pass and once again, I’ll face that daunting task. To wonder if I hate it, well, You do not have to ask. The holidays are special times And give some folks a lift, Except for all the stress involved To find the perfect gift.

I have eliminated all gift giving; we dole out cash. That way there is no pain when they open something and their faces fall.
