We all have our loves in life.
This morning I went for a drive,
In my super- hot enginned car.
Up hills and down the slopes,
I drove my girl, drove her so far.
At first we fueled her pond with love,
Warming and heating up inside her.
We then slid into her cabin,
Turning the key and she let out a purr.
And then the drive, the stops, the go,
Wet and slippery, danger and fear.
And to manoeuvre through streets with signs,
Then the freeway so we dropped a gear.
We sped so fast using all of our skill,
No slow, no careful, or drive with discreet.
Her engine roared and leapt and pounced,
My chest heaved then sank every heartbeat.
Out there it’s free, free as the wind,
Free to push hard and free to hold tight.
You’re free to let the world pass by,
Drown in the love, and you’re free to bite.
This morning I went for a drive,
A long hot drive with my baby.
I can’t wait till after work today,
Might take her for a drive again, maybe.
