Darkness Wins Again

Walking through the valley
With darkness all about
Terror breaths its breath
As darkness carries its clout
Is the abyss opening before me?
Will it embrace me deep inside?
Is there no escape for me?
Am I’m along only for the ride?
No light can penetrate this space
As darkness rules and reigns
Damnation waits for those who come
And enters through their veins
The howls from somewhere I hear
Tis my ending there’s no doubt
What can I do, what can I say
Who would listen if I were to shout?
My hunger took me deeper
I wanted only to glimpse awhile
But from what I can conjure up
I’ll become a darkness child
A child who learns the darkness
Its evil ways and schemes
No joy again to fill my life
Just dark, deep nightmarish dreams
As darkness reaches inside my soul
I’m sinking farther, my will has past
I now belong to the underworld
As darkness has won me at last
No thought of light can enter me
No thought of life from my past
I sold my soul as I was told
I am doomed and lost at last
