Darkness Runs
Darkness runs
From opposite horizon
Where light no longer
Finds home
Darkness runs closer
Like heavy mantel
Folding her under
She fights the heavy eyes
Tired mind
Because this that lurks beyond
Drifting off
Is what eats at her soul
The things that make her whole
Eventually the fight
Always lost
And demons smell
Her quietly
Hiding soul
It starts with
A tiny lick
At small whole
That eats
Knaws at her soul
Then with
one swift thrust
They are set free
A sequence set off
Dreams of red
Running down
Sinfilled legs
Over white lines
Where tears were shed
Quickly turning
To dark faced demons
With cold hands
On pale skin
Making hair
stand on end
Then finally
To safe space
Falling apart
Falling into the dark
Shattering
Like mottled glass
Awoken only
By screams
Of discontent
Discomfort
Distress.
