Darkness Is Never Long
The western sky, with its array of colors
Offers life to these weary dying eyes
As thoughts of what could have been
Turn into new hopes for the very morrow
It’s as if all vagueness of thought, unveils
When, in this very moment, it is clear
Life is beautiful and forever ongoing
As are choices and actions, perpetual
Cloudiness and rain may enter our lives
But, the sunset of that day, each day, occurs
Bringing the realization that tomorrow exists
With hopes and dreams presented in color
I look again at the descending sun tonight
And say not goodnight to its presence
But, I bid it a fond adieu, until tomorrow
Brings it back before my awaiting eyes
