Darkness Gave Birth To Light
Darkness gave birth to light
A distorted dream became reality
The hands of the clock
Became dilapidated
Tyranny is the voice of time
Ruling over all
For the passage of time
Is cruel to us all
Universes are born
And universes die
Realities formed in your mind
Taken away at the drop of a dime
Everything is connected
But disconnected by apathy
We care for that which does not matter
But care not for that which does
Look at the burnt pages
Look at all the lost history
Empires crumbled
Triumph faded away to agony
What was once great
Is now a footnote in history
Read by apathetic teenagers
And everything is so twisted
When even the stars are devious
And the moon has ill intentions
We're trapped in a cycle of fear
A cycle of hatred
Because we were born in the dark
But we always sought
The light
But we cannot find it
Clouded by hate
Consumed by fear
Infinite galaxies await
A curious mind
Reality is a dream
But dreams are reality
Are you fine
What does it all mean to you
To look into the abyss
It's so very cold
And yet it makes the blood boil
When life is a lie
And death is a truth
Are we doing our best
I wonder
I ponder
Perhaps I squander
This life I have
My mind is just a maze
Of intricate puzzles
That I have yet to decipher
But I hold on
I hold on to the hope
That one day
I'll be whole
And maybe the sun will blush
When I'm far more radiant
But for now I sit
I see the truth
Darkness gave birth to light
A distorted dream became a reality
And right now
That reality is my life
