Darkness Descends
Blue morphs into a sullied grey,
within Twilight's surreal light.
And Dusk dissolves daylight away,
shading silhouettes inked by Night.
Scarlet rivers, flowing blood-red,
spill over the horizon's edge.
And as a crimson sky is bled,
vermilion tints the mountain ledge.
As Day acquiesces to Night,
darkness descends upon the Earth.
And Sol stealthily slips from sight,
awaiting Dawn, and Day's rebirth.
A liquid moon pools high above,
as flashing fireflies take flight.
And smiling down on hearts in love,
ignites passion's flame with Her light.
