Darkness

My house is like a bombshell, Ticking away at my soul, About to explode, What should I do? The window reminds me, all I can do it look out, The locked door, Confining me to my room, The only friend I have, Is the darkness that brings me peace of mind, Time is ticking, It seems to be rapid and steady, Keeping me on my tip-toes, Should I fight back, or sit there and let it eat away at me till I'm gone? I need his help, Will he rescue me, from what seems to be my dying fate? There's footsteps down the hall! Why so late? What's going on? Maybe he's coming! I knew he would, but wait! It's a girl? With a shiny metal gun? Pointing straight at my face? BOOM! I close my eyes and wait for the blow, But open them to see him standing there stroking my hair. The girl laying dead, In a pool of her own blood.
