Darkness
They sit in the corner by themselves
They sit and watch the day turn into Darkness
Their eyes glazed over in their head
There is a lifelessness within their eyes
I am heavy with sorrow within my heart
For the battle they fight is unseen
It is a struggle for their very life
For this battle is not a physical one
It is a fight over their very thoughts within their head
We want to fix their problems
With any means we may know how
Yet this problem that they have to solve
Is not mended with just a nail
Give them all the support you can
Let them know how much you care
Treat each and every day as if it were their last
For only God knows what tomorrow brings
And He never tells us in advance
He merely shows us all the way
Remember what I say to you, heed each and every word
Make sure to help and hold them as often as you can
And Let them know that they are LOVED
For our strength they need within
Wait not for them to have that gaze
Into the Darkness that they fear
For if you wait until that day
The battle that they fought has come to the bitter end
And the Darkness that they have feared so great
Has taken another from us once again
In loving memory of Kristen White Parsons who lost her battle June 25, 2022. A beautiful light in these dark times whose fire was extinguished too soon.
