Darkness

It comes when least expected wraps around the heart takes away the hope of the soul; it blinds the mind steels the process of thought, holds lie as truth confounds the inner spirit; there is within a subtle quiet chilling and clinging to the air unmoved, hovering, looming reality just out of reach lost in the darkness that overcomes out of touch with time, afraid of change exceeding understanding a blackness that overwhelms seeping into hearts and souls, lost to knowledge dying to breathe new life; it comes and goes as easily as the passing of light in day and before we realize, everything and everyone slips away into the darkness.
