Darkness

[ Darkness When waves wash over you, and hit you hard When the light of the day becomes dark. When things of the past try to pin you down. And all around you is lost. When your body is aching with the weight that you carry, When your movement is so slow it is almost stop. When your brain is filled with emptiness you struggle to think. And time present becomes time past. Yet you still struggle, and wont let go. You walk your path with pain in your heart. Crippled by the past you carry your burdens. Isolated, rejected, abused and trodden down. Is my life worth living, or do I end it now! Deep in the depths of darkness, I wander round and round. Time has no meaning, no sight no sound. I call out but cannot be heard. Tears streaming down my face. I stumble and cannot move. Life ebbing slowly from me, have I fallen from grace. A light, a glimmer far off, but how can I move? Is someone calling? what are they are saying? Yes, it is still there, I am not lost. Remove your burdens let them fall. dissguarding the weight, that I have carried from birth. My movements become lighter, with each stride that I take. I move forward, not in circles towards the light. Leaving the depths of darkness far behind. I see faces looking at me, concerned for my life. I feel a warmth of humankind. A hand grasps mine, I hold on tight. Machines beep around me, stating i’m safe. Life is for living no matter the past. Life is worth fighting for.]
