Darkest Light

Blinded as I am trying to see,
Darkness becomes my sorrow,
As these waves drown my cries.
Brutally I’m thrown helplessly
Out into the roughest and most
Darkest of all seas.

Alone and forgotten as life goes on,
No one to help me keep
My head above these swells.
By myself, I’m struggling
To keep from going under.

When all is darkest and the
Coldest of all, no hope
For me to carry on,
With a feeling my life,
Is so long and forever gone.

From deep down within my
Empty soul, a voice I do not know,
Softly and kindly spoke to me,
As if my only friend…..

Off in the distance, so far from me,
A shining light so bright
Is what I can barely see,
Leading me safe and secure
To the serenity of life’s shores.
