Darkening Skies
Darkening Skies
Thunder
Claps her hands
Bidding me
Listen to her song
I am the bass
Resounding far and wide
I am the drum
Tapping life’s rhythms
I am the strings
Rising and dissolving in unison
Silence enters
I strain to hear a refrain
But the song has faded
What was is no more
Self disappears
With a prescient falling
Dropping, dropping
When
A faint echo whispers
Let go of the past
Surrender to the present
Breathe its nectar deeply
Follow its rhythms
Trust in abundance
