Dark Woods

They come upon us once again
I see traces of me left behind
The dark woods are coming

I see traces of where he took me
How blessed I am not feeling any pain
Will you ever stop looking for me

Am I lost to you forever and if so
Did you think this would happen
I'm near death I can feel it now

As he carries my body further
The closer I'm coming to death
I know I will never see my mother

Will she ever pass this way again
My stuffed animals come into view
How obsolete all those things are

One day I'm sure they will find me
A dog most likely will find a bone
Or someone riding on horseback

But for now I'll remain cold and alone
In my shallow grave of river rocks !!!!

Wow Wow!What a picture you painted, no wondered it was honored. You've been doing this so long. Have you considered putting a book out? Certainly give this some thought! bbn . Tell me the names of others you like also. and then pick out your favorites so I can check them out bbn

I am wondering what you were feeling when you wrote this. Your mind covered a lot of ground in this one. The images express some sadness to me. Life is such a mixed bag. For every joy, there is also a sadness in the passing of something we can never regain.

oh MY, this was a very good one of yours to find way back here. I really enjoyed it. It is a bit like the theme i did for dark woods too!! It reminds me of that movie of the girl that is killed in a guy's underground secret place. (forgot the name of that movie now , dang it)

I do love this so much Debbie, and not only cause of the dark deep shadows following you, through the coldness of being alone. I love the poem, because of the eerie feeling of being pulled away from life, and into the depth of feeling nothing. always~ Linda

Dark and scary the way I like them, the voice of a ghost wondering if the body will be found, loved it thanks for recommending
