Dark Realities

Darkness rules over day and night
It takes the form of buildings,
where nobody can see the sun rise again
Denizens of the shadows wear
suits and horns to demonstrate their power
Look at the floating boards and tell me
you're not hypnotized and held spellbound
to illusory joy
They're only friends are paper and we're their toys
Mastery of bending light is their special power
like an insect attracted to an electrical lantern
When you hear their attempts to tempt you,
I'll cover your ears
Put on these sunglasses,
look very closely to where I'm pointing
Over there, is proof that light still exists
