Dark Content

I found something in the dark a long time ago,
I was hesitant at first
Since all I could see was its shadow.
When we first met was when my breath had begun to slow
If I would see the next day, I didn't actually know.

When I opened my eyes I felt hollow.
I was seeing through eyes that now knew sorrow.
Dark brown eyes turned green and yellow.
A child no more, innocence now zero.
Trust and Faith now are out the window.
And now I had nowhere to go.

No one would understand what I meant
So many hours wasted, so many years spent
All these holy things just focus on how to prevent

In the darkness, I felt content.

I think I may have stayed there.
