Dark Christmas

No holiday joy
Parents have passed on
Wife left me
Dog died
Children don't call anymore
Been sick for a while
House is falling down
Tree looks terrible
Lights barely work
No one to buy presents for
No presents for me
Last of my friends have passed
Bad neighbors
No money anyway

It would be easy to give up
Hate the world
Hate Christmas
End it all
What is the use

But I look and see
There is one present for me
It is the gift
Jesus Christ gave me
For the redemption of my sins
And the paradise
That waits for me

Suddenly, I realize
That this really is
A great Christmas
After all

G'day Timothy … starts off like a country music ballad and ends with the true meaning of Christmas - well done Timothy - Lindsay
