Dare Not Speak Thy Name
Pray thy love I dare not speak its name,
For if thou seed of love that I planted within my heart was but that of a sorrow plant,
It's leaves have reached out to the heavens and it's buds in bloom,
It's thorns now digging, scratching and tearing at my heart,
Pray thy desire for I dare not speak its name,
For if a ray of want was to pierce through this darkened sky then I should cower beneath a branch,
It's shadows cast me within eternal darkness during the day,
It's deprivation of gods light keeping me where I shall belong,
Pray thy life for I dare not speak its name,
For if new birth were offered to thee I would not take it but rather be buried in soil,
It's dampened nature suffocating what breath I still have left,
It's mercy of an eternal slumber I shall welcome not with fear but with a sigh of relief,
Pray thy name my love for thou must never speak it again.
