Listen to poem:

Dare a Heart

To meet a woman such as you,
should've been shooting stars.
So it was in days of old..
let it be so again.

To feel your touch, hold your hand..
should've been Sonnets.
Endless flowing words,
sprouting forth a lover's pen.

Hard to resist when you say come hither,
you know I always would.
Melted long past the days of summer,
little heart mine, that dared it could.

Countenance hidden deep in soft eyes,
I long to find the meaning.
Strong-willed flavors of love, all mine..
leave bare my heart and soul entreating.

A poem of love that few women can resist, if true read it to her, especially the last verse, sensational poetry. Blessings, Jennifer.

"should've been shooting stars" "should've been sonnets"--sigh How romantic! I read this again with the music playing in the back ground and liked it even more. :) fav

Awesome write, Richard--one of your best poems. Loved your metaphors: To meet a woman such as you, should've been shooting stars.-----To feel your touch, hold your hand.. should've been Sonnets. Poetry at its best. A sure FAVE for me!

Vijay, Thank you for that wondeful comment my fine friend. Proof that romance will never die(?) Long as poet pens like ours never run dry. Made my day, I hope yours is a good one too! -Richard
