just a quick write on how nostalgia can eat up the time we have.

I write a lot of nostalgic poetry Of days long gone and things of the past Memories of better times Of a Utopia that could never last But there is a danger to the life we have Nostalgia takes its toll We forget about the present While the devil takes your soul. These days were made for living While the past is dead and gone Nostalgia is unforgiving You need hope to carry on. Looking back can make you smile At a world no longer here There is too much waiting up ahead No need to wait in fear To wait for what the future brings In a world going slowly mad Enjoy the day, live your life Keep the good forget the bad Time will come when all you need Are the memories to take you away While the world is burning and people cry Just waiting for judgment day.
