Dancing Shadows
I stole a beat from the rain
I stole a tune from the river
In the black mirror I’d look into the pain
Something lost from this picture.
I heard the wind shout at the trees
I saw the dancing of so many leaves
I felt a tingling right there in the air
I turned to see you not there
I faced the cold and the dark
I heard sirens screaming from afar
I stood in the air of the night
I reasoned on how I could fight
But as the rain drummed the water and ground
I heard a call from the crowd
I saw the shadow of me
Alone in the dark space I see
A shimmer of love appear next to me
A ghost in the black I can see.
Together again we could be.
Dancing shadows in the river.
