Dancing In Clover

While strolling down life's garden path Oft I've stopped to admire the roses, I've carefully avoided the scourge of wrath Considered the deep concerns life poses, And reached the conclusion to do my best I must optimize my determination to give As though each new day is a coveted test During which I must practice how to live More productively, comfortable in my skin, Happily enjoying the talents God has given Maintaining ties with friends, kith, and kin, Seldom feeling unduly pressured or driven. Someday when my time on earth is over And I go on to whatever reward is mine, I can say with a smile, I've danced in clover As far as I'm concerned everything's fine.

Dancing in clover sounds like it's a pretty good pitch for eternal life. G.L. at the Pearly Gates... Nicely penned, my friend. Smiles, Gershon

Actually it's a metaphor for the good life here before eternity, gw. But, I'll give it a try at the Pearly Gates! Thanks!

An admirable idea "I must optimize my determination to give As though each new day is a coveted test" Wow!

Enjoyable Rhyme poem to read, Milt. I love the attitude and your intention for each day. The world needs more people with that attitude, my friend. Have a nice weekend! Bill

These are the mature reflections of those who lived their lives with joyful optimism and allowed themselves to learn good things in every moment. A reflective, up-to-date poetry that understands the indeterminism of facts but contrasts the bitterness of the inevitability of destinies with the pleasure of the knowledge obtained. Congratulations.

Leading the good life you've led Milton, I'd say you will be generously rewarded. Tom

Oh, Tom, I don't know. It's had it's ups and downs, but I can say I have enjoyed every minute...and still do!

Very nice, Milt! They say dancing in clover May bring out the bees But you may find some four-leaves Mixed in with the threes…

I remember searching for them to give to girlfriends when I was in high school. I've had many a sting, too, Jeff.
