Dancing Delight

They’ve dubbed me Twirly since I spin all night, Oh the joy it brings at a square dance, this dancing delight! Doesn’t it make you dizzy they often inquire? With a look that says my constant motion they clearly admire, Partners make it a point of pride the correct arm hold to aspire. To keep Twirly moving we jointly conspire. I’m grateful they’re so generously inspired! It’s delightful, that floating feeling when a wee bit dizzy, Though I spot when twirling but switching directions, am constantly busy. The trick is to squeeze in all my “trashy dancing” moves, The flourishes and skirt work that for me improves The hum of a smoothly running square, by adding a certain flair. That other dancers have come to expect from me anywhere! So I must constantly make mischief to earn my pet name, Lest other’s ask if I’m ill or lame! It’s an honestly earned moniker I proudly claim, As we all play and share the fun of the evening’s game. M. Renee Taylor 3-19-13
