Dancing Butterflies
Walking along a path
my toes grabbed hold tight;
right in front of me
two dark beauties danced.
Twirling round each other
circling up and down
faster and faster
off to play tag.
First one chasing
then the other
never more than
inches apart.
I watched in awe
amused by their waltz
or maybe more like
the jitter bug.
Then they were off
one, one way
the other another
up into a tree.
