Danced

They danced all night. The neighbors could hear The loud thumping. They danced all night He took the lead And they spanned a thousand times. The kids watched From the crack in their bedroom door So fearful As they danced. He grabs her hand, she’s hesitant She doesn’t know her moves, so evident So she let him lead as they dance. He dipped her back She Slides out of his hands, she falls While she’s on the floor, she crawls He whisk her away off the ground And they continue to dance. They dance, they dance Cuts and bruises on daddy’s hands Rips in mommy’s pants, mommy cries As they dance through the night.
