Dance Underneath the Moonlight

When the skies turn black
and stars begin to twinkle,
That bright face rises from the horizon.

When the sun sleeps,
and all is silent.
She shows us her light in the darkness.

A gentle breeze flows by lightly,
and I stare at her with wide eyes.

To show the dear moon my appreciation,
I dance and sing a lovely tune.
Moving in the light as she casts my shadow.

Filled with hope and love.
Dreaming of sweet dreams.
Dancing underneath the blue light,
feels wonderful to me.

Hmmm...a moon shadow. What a great image for a poem. Loved this one.
