Dance of the Spheres

Dance of the Spheres As clear crystal fiery stars dance through the Milky Way The music of Heaven’s spheres vibrates harmonies - In dainty minuets comet’s trails and starry orbs waltz into the day. With solar breezes astral tarantellas dip and sway Celestial instruments in tune for moonlit symphonies As clear crystal fiery stars dance through the Milky Way. Adagio storms of fantasies through stardust cadence play While cosmic timpani compose the choreography - In dainty minuets comet’s trails and starry orbs waltz into the day. Star dances of the seasons rotate in theaters of great plies While heavenly chimes call the vesper’s dance in rhapsodies As clear crystal fiery stars dance through the Milky Way. Sparks of shattered fireballs take their place - the astronomic stage - The pulsing planet steps with the eternal dance card agree In dainty minuets comet’s trails and starry orbs waltz into the day. In arabesque my spirit leaps to join the spheres ballet The rotating company in lines - jettes of crystalline astronomy, As clear crystal fiery stars dance through the Milky Way In dainty minuets comet’s trails and starry orbs waltz into the day. 3-1-22 Contest: An Original Villanelle Sponsor: L. Thank you so much Belle! Love having a dance partner to kick up some stardust as we cut a celestial rug through our solar system! I was so inspired by the theory of the planets vibrating in harmony. Sounds exactly like something our wonderful Creator would do! I am so glad that this poem was an inspiration to you! :) Sending you "good vibrations" of blessings!

Thank you so much Vijay! The stars are such a rich treasury of images and wonderful opportunities for musings! So grateful for your visit and your note of congratulations. Strauss' Music of the Spheres was my entree into this fascinating theory of harmonic vibrations between the planets. I so hoped my words could express that amazement. Sending you blessings of harmony!

Dear Lasaad, what an honor to have a winning poem in your contest! Thank you not only for your placement but for your delightful message. The poem is based on the Strauss piece called Music of the Spheres. I was so taken with it and hoped my words could only reflect the beauty of the music and the wonder of the science - everything vibrating in harmony. So grateful for this opportunity! Blessings of harmony to you my friend!

Bill, thank you! You have made my day. I am so honored. Agreed, the villanelle is a tough form. Had a hard time deciding on a theme. Once I discovered the history of the form a theme came clear. Looking forward to reading your poems. Sending you blessings!
