Dance of the Droplets
Tears from the sky fall to their rest
in the earth outside your window,
on the flowers against the pane so pressed,
soothing as they wave to and fro.
In the wind you watch the leaves sway
to a rhythm felt in your goosebumps,
to a song only the storm can play,
the beat that through your veins now pumps.
Thunder reverberates in your chest
as your body echoes its booming thumps,
as the peals draw to a crashing crest,
and into your throat your heart jumps.
Whether your life enjoys a gleeful glow
or has somehow for a spell gone astray,
you can find something in the watery show -
a smile in the tempest, peace in the grey.
