Dance In the Mist
A dance in the mist
You'll surely be missed
Like blessed nostalgia
It worms into your heart
Like retroactive reactions
Of everything you failed to do
In the moment so blind
Gaining sight ten years later
Both a gift and a curse
And it hurts so bad your chest bursts
The mist begins to clear
In those fading moments
Alongside the strike of a gong
Remember all the tears
And surely all the fears
Remember all the pain
That left upon you a stain
But remember also
All of the times you smiled
And felt faith
That it would all work out
Because more often than not
You made it through alright
Or you wouldn't be here now
So old and wise
And yet so young and ignorant
And it's not just rain falling
But tears cannot change the passage of time
As we march towards an inevitable end
But each tear has a story
And each story was a blessing
So in the end
Realize it wasn't worth it
To fear the inevitable
Because the journey more than makes up for it
So enjoy one last dance in the mist
And know you'll surely be missed
