Dance Every Night

In a world where love is right
                 Hearts go dancing every night


The stars in a jealous heaven
                       shine green with envy
Your eyes outshine them
                               They see it when we
Dance every night, dance every night
                                     
Though in the sky, stars twinkle still
   They’ll never match the wondrous thrill
            of dancing every night 
              


The moon is intimidated 
                    Your glow out glows it 
It’s lost its luster
                                  Everyone knows it
You shine so bright, you shine so bright
                                  
And though the moon is still our friend
                 It has to hide when in the end
         we’re dancing every night

As I grow older and more stoic, as a grandma, I feel I need to behave myself, act my age and all that jazz....but you know what? Your poem makes me want to go into the back yard and dance beneath the stars, maybe Grammy can dance with the grandbabies beneath the moon and stars, maybe I'm not too old as long as I don't try to do disco, or, lol, ballet!! ;) Mike Gentile September 18, 2022 at 5:13 AM BJ, you are never too old! Believe it or not, disco is still very big down in Puerto Vallarta. So, when I go down there I thoroughly enjoy myself. Can't dance like that anymore, but I love watching (over a drink or two!)
