Daily Bread

Hungry from crumb trail consumption,

with deep cravings more,
as your morsels implore,

I follow the mystery path leading
to a place with daily bread feeding.

I've no desire to find my way back,
now cognizant of the nourishment I lack.

Seeking a feast that my tongue's yet to touch,
I nibble little bits, desiring much.

In all pursuit of love and lust,
none can compare to a bite of Your crust.

That broken bread daily fills me full,
enlivens my heart, awakens my soul.

Without the daily piece remains hunger.
Without the bite of life, to death my heart'll wander.

what a nice metaphor for love, for the feeling of being filled with it. Well done, Juliet.

Thanks for your comments, Andrea. It's actually about reading The Word, but a metaphor for love could also work and that's a good idea.
