Daggers

Daggers I stare into the eyes of strangers A warning to all to stay away To seem intimidating and fiercesome So as to prevent unwanted lust Daggers that stab into my soul From friends who become ghosts Disappearing when I need them most Their offer of help, only a mirage Daggers killing my broken heart The trauma and the damage that can't be undone Forever wounded, never to heal For time cannot heal wounds in the mind Daggers I carry to protect myself Along side my crystals and jewelry For this world is evil and unforgiving For the lonely woman that is me
